Sizing and Rates

Whether Suzuki or RCM, private or public school, city or rural, every child and adult deserves the opportunity to learn a string instrument.  The rental program is designed to benefit and accommodate students, teachers, and parents. 

The best way to size your child is to bring them into our shop for a fitting or have guidance from your teacher.  When this isn't possible, there are a few options.

The charts below show approximate arm lengths for violin and viola and approximate heights for cello and bass.

Please allow for an hour of your family's time during the rental process, we will demonstrate the dos & don'ts of instrument care and handling.  Come well fed and rested, you will learn a lot and we will be happy to answer all your questions.

Sizes 1/32, 1/16, 1/10, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 4/4 are available.

Your violin outfit comes with everything you need to attend your first lesson with confidence.   The chart to the left is a close approximation.  It's always best to come into the shop for a fitting.   Arm length is from the inside of the neck to the tip of the middle finger, measured when your right arm is extended horizontally straight out to the side, palm up.

All violin outfits come with our set-up, shaped or oblong case, premium strings, and fiberglass bow:
