Orchestra North provides opportunities to connect with fellow northern musicians while creating music in gorgeous mountain setting of Smithers BC!

-Focused symphony rehearsals preparing concert repertoire with Okanagan Symphony Conductor Rosemary Thompson.
-Beginning ensembles for strings and winds/brass
-Free festival passes, to be able to attend dozens of formal and informal concerts and events in the Spirit of the North Classical Music Festival (festival pass included with registration fee: $50 value).
-Networking opportunities for musicians in the north through activities and collaboration
-Workshops on a variety of topics including conducting, piano pedagogy, ballroom dance, improvisation, and a piano masterclass.
-Smithers-style family folk dance

 The Orchestra North Summer Program are orchestral and chamber music festivals that draws together musicians of all ages and abilities from across Canada. The programs provide high quality music education to its participants and encourages collaboration and musical excellence for everyone. Celebrating northern musicians and composers, Orchestra North promotes the enriching of lives and communities through music and the arts, with programs in Smithers, British Columbia, Owen Sound Ontario, and Whitehorse, Yukon.
