The Rococo Violin Shop established in 1991 in Prince George British Columbia is an extension of our family's business which was founded in 1975 Vann Bowed Instruments. In 2006 studio and workshop moved into a heritage home located in the historic 'Crescents' near the Prince George Conservatory and The Prince George Symphony Orchestra, and is only walking distance from downtown and local transit, and within blocks of Highway 97 and 16.
The Rococo Violin Shop owned and operated by Luthier Rachele Turgeon has a long tradition of supporting string education and educators. She was the first Violin Shop north of Vancouver that was adamant about setting up 'student' instruments to the same high standards as those played by more advanced players. The Rococo Violin Shop made it a priority always to use high-quality strings and materials in its instrument set-up process, along with proper bows for beginners in order to achieve the best possible start to their musical experience.
The Rococo Violin Shop has always welcomed beginners of all ages. We also give annual scholarships, bursaries and donate to a variety of musical institutions and festivals within British Columbia.
Our services are comprehensive. We undertake instrument restorations and repairs, as well as bow rehair and repair for professional players, hobbyists, and students. We also provide appraisals through Vann Bowed Instrument Ltd. In addition, we maintain the most complete and reliable rental program in the region. Instruments, bows, cases. accessories, some exclusive to The Rococo Violin Shop, can be purchased in our studio. We try our best to accommodate your needs.
